Means of Exchange (MoE) is a movement to make ideas around alternative models of exchange more accessible to people with little or no relevant experience. We’re interested in alternative currencies, barter networks, resource sharing and swapping sites – anything that helps people to lessen their dependence on money and foster community collaboration.
See below for different ways that you can get involved and join our growing global community.
We were declared “Next Century Innovators” by the Rockefeller Foundation. Below you can hear directly from Ken Banks and his reasons for founding MoE at PopTech 2012.

On our community resource site, you’ll see links and definitions for alternative models of exchange such as time banking, community currencies and barter systems.
We work with volunteers from around the world to regularly update our blog about innovative ideas that work towards a more resilient economy.
